*CONTEMPORARY EI-SHODOU (shodo) ART FRESCO

1990 - Ranna invented ei-shodou (shodo) alphabet calligraphy. 2001 - Ranna completed her unique innovation of contemporary ei-shodou (shodo) art fresco tablets of the verses of the Zen text, the Genjoukoan. Executed in Ranna's signature shimmer method, these ei-shodou art fresco tablets bear ei-shodou transcriptions of the Zen verses. Inscribed on fresco tablets created in a "found" method devised by Ranna to access raw iron oxides, the result is a successful synthesis of contemporary art with Western fresco techniques and Asian shodou art techniques .
